iPad 2 vs BlackBerry Playbook vs Motorola Xoom vs LG G-Slate vs Asus Transformer ThumbAs more and more tablets come to market, making a decision of which one is right for you is becoming increasingly difficult. We’ve put together a tablet comparison chart that will hopefully ease some of your decision making headaches.

While the iPad and iPad 2 may currently be ruling the roost, there are some serious contenders out there now.  Yes, the iPad is lacking in a lot of people’s eyes due to its closed nature and lack of expandability, but people are still buying it in droves because they know and trust the brand name.  Apple does need to start watching it back, however, as these new players in the tablet market creep up on them.

If you’ve been a BlackBerry phone fan for years, than perhaps the PlayBook from RIM will be more to your liking than Apple’s offering.  If you’re an Android fan, your options of devices running Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the first version of the OS built for tablets, is rapidly growing.  While the Motorola Xoom was the first out of the gate, it got decent reviews, but some of the love seemed to wane with time.  The LG G-Slate adds 3D support to the mix that everyone seems to be throwing into every device as of late.  The latest contender is the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, which our own Jon Rettinger gave a stellar review to.

No matter what, it still comes down to personal taste. Even if the tech specs of one look far better than another, it may not suit what you need it to do, or you may simply not like the physical feel of the device. The best thing to do is to always try to think of what you specifically need the device to do for you, and then see if the one that catches your eye is capable of doing that task.

What do you think? What do you think is the best way to compare devices when making a purchasing decision.
